I've never been wedding dress shopping before. What should I expect at my appointment?
Your appointment is all about you. We’ll take the time to understand your wedding, your style and how you want to feel on your wedding day.
You’ll have your own dedicated stylist and private bridal suite where you can relax, enjoy trying different styles and discover what feels right for you.
Many brides arrive saying "I have no idea what I want" — and that’s completely normal.
I'm nervous about trying on wedding dresses. Can you help?
Absolutely. We know that walking into a bridal boutique for the first time can feel a little daunting, especially if you've never tried on wedding dresses before.
Our experienced stylists are here to guide you every step of the way. There is no pressure, no expectation that you should know exactly what you want, and no judgement. We’ll help you discover styles that make you feel comfortable, confident and amazing. We are here to make sure you have fun and enjoy your bridal experience, we want you to leave confident and a tiny bit spoilt!
I'm worried your boutique will be outside my budget. What price range are your dresses?
We understand that the look of a beautiful bridal boutique can sometimes feel intimidating, but luxury doesn’t have to mean out of reach.
At Holmes & Co Bridal, we have wedding dresses available from under £1,000 through to luxury designer gowns at £4000, with a wide range of styles and price points.
We welcome every bride to come and explore our collection without pressure.
I'm plus size. Will I have dresses to try on?
Yes. We believe every bride deserves to feel amazing when choosing her wedding dress.
We stock dresses from sizes 6–28 and have a range of styles and silhouettes to help every bride find something that makes her feel confident and beautiful.
Our boutique is a welcoming and you will have your own private space, relax and let us do the choosing and we promise you will feel fabulous not matter your size.
What if I choose my dress and then worry I've made the wrong decision?
Choosing your wedding dress is a big emotional decision, which is why we never rush or pressure brides. We take the time to understand what you love about a dress, why it feels right for you and help you feel confident in your decision.
But our support doesn’t stop when you leave the boutique. At Holmes & Co, we’re here to hold your hand throughout your bridal journey, from the moment you say yes to the moment you walk down the aisle.

Can I bring family and friends to my bridal appointment?
Of course. We know choosing your wedding dress is a special moment, and many brides love sharing it with the people closest to them.
We recommend bringing the people whose opinions make you feel confident, supported and excited. Sometimes having too many opinions can make the decision harder, so keeping your appointment with your closest people often helps you truly focus on how you feel in the dress.
Your appointment is about you, your feelings and finding the dress that makes you feel amazing.
If you have a larger group of family and friends who would love to be part of the experience, we recommend celebrating your yes moment with a select few at your appointment, then returning for a reveal appointment where you can share your dress with your wider group.
Our reveal appointments are the perfect way to make another special memory — allowing you to celebrate with your loved ones once you have made your decision, without taking away from the personal experience of finding your dress.
(Please note, to maintain the comfort and quality of your appointment experience, we can only offer our fizz celebration service for groups of up to four guests.)
I don't know what style of wedding dress will suit me. Can you help?
Absolutely. Many brides arrive at their first appointment unsure of what style they want — and that is completely normal.
You may have saved hundreds of wedding dresses online, created Pinterest boards and have an idea of what you love, but still have no idea what will actually feel right when you try them on.
We often say choosing a wedding dress is very different from choosing a pair of jeans. With jeans, you probably already know the style, fit and shape you feel comfortable in because you've worn them for years. Most brides have never tried on a wedding dress before, so how could they possibly know exactly what will suit them?
That’s where we come in.
Our experienced stylists will take the time to understand your style, your personality and your wedding vision. We’ll talk you through different shapes, fabrics and silhouettes, explain how they flatter your figure and make sure we stay true to your own personal style.
