We are just back from the catwalks at Harrogate Bridal Week, showing the latest trends for Prom 2027. The catwalks were full of corset bodices, lots of glam ruffles and crystal embellishment. There’s inspiration for both the full-skirt-and-grand-entrance girl and the girl who loves something more understated..
Our advice? Save the ideas you love, then give yourself permission to try something unexpected.
Prom dress with Ruffles
Ruffles bring a softer, swishier kind of drama.
And yes, you should absolutely do a little turn in the mirror.
Give a fuller dress room to move during your appointment. Walk around, sit down and picture the evening, from getting into the car to finding your friends on the dance floor.
If you’ve always imagined a big dress moment, this is your invitation to try it.
The corset bodice: a little structure, a lot to love
Corset prom dresses remain a firm favourite for 2027, with sculpted bodices and decorative detail featuring,
The appeal is easy to understand. A structured bodice gives a dress definition, whether it’s paired with a flowing skirt or something more fitted.
But here’s the fitting-room bit that matters: how does it feel when you sit down?
Take a breath. Move your arms. Have a little walk. You should feel comfortable enough to forget about the construction and enjoy wearing the dress.
And leave any worries about the size label at the door. We’re interested in the fit and how you feel.
Prom Dress with Sparkle: how much is entirely up to you

You don’t need a complete mood board or a firm decision. A few useful details will do.
Bring the screenshots. Even if the dresses are all different. Tell us what caught your eye in each one.
Have a budget you’re happy with. Allow for shoes, accessories and any alterations as well as the dress.
Bring someone who gets you. The best shopping companion listens to what you love and helps you feel good about your choice.
Try the unexpected dress. You can always take it off again. Sometimes it helps you confirm your favourite; sometimes it becomes your favourite.
And remember, you’re allowed to take a moment and decide what you think before asking everyone else.
